Training bee keepers on solar cooking.

Women groups for bee keepers have received solar cooking appliances for cooking at their homes. Solar cooking is one of the cleanest cooking energies in the world and is good because it preserves the environment hence promoting green economy that is essential for beekeeping.

Solar cooking items were distributed into 6 different women groups with each group having an average of 25 members and a group leader. Each group received 3 conical cookers, 1 parabolic cooker, 5 cookit sets, 3 hay baskets, 5 wapis, 2 energy saving stoves, 1 solar box and 20kgs of briquettes.

Before the distribution, each group received a training on how to use each of the above appliances, we did different group cooking using the different solar cooking appliances with different women groups. We cooked rice, beef, eggs and vegetables. After cooking, we served the food amongst the groups for eating. It was really delicious!
